What’s the best way to wash soiled car floor mats?
SCHLANGEMANN asked:
Does anyone know the best way to wash soiled floor mats from a car? They are a rug like material on top and a foam rubber on the bottom to prevent slippage. Can I just throw them in a washing machine with regular detergent w/ bleach (such as Tide), or will that end up damaging them destroy the material? I really don’t want to destroy the mats by washing them improperly because they are original BMW floor mats and are quite durable. Thanks.
I’m going to try Woolite, as I hear it does a great job on carpet and rug material. I’ll see if that works.

How can I remove human hair from mats & carpets without physically touching the hair?
Sarah L asked:
I have 3 daughters with long hair and they all brush their hair and the hair comes out onto the floor, mainly onto mats & the carpets. I do vaccum it off but half the time I have to physically remove it. Such a fustrating job. No matter how many times I tell the girls not to drop it on the floor it still appears and is driving me crazy. Now I know why I keep my hair short. Also I find hair in the shower plughole and the basin the sink. They won’t touch it at all and it is up to me to clean it up. Just such an annoying habit that it really gets up my goat. Other than giving them a number 1 haircut I can’t see any other solution. As per usual it is left up to Mum to cleanup. (Interesting to see how they get on when they go flatting). Probably think the phantom cleaner will clean up after them.
