There has been some argument in hockey circles as to whether or not Mats Sundin is, in fact, the best Toronto Maple Leaf in history.
I am perfectly comfortable with this notion, but I know there are a few elder statesmen out there who will certainly disagree with me. The following is a compilation video of some of the greatest moments in the career of Mats Sundin.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. I feel it’s a big disgrace that Leaf fans blames it all on Sundin. All of a sudden, he is not worth a ****.

All Mats Sundin did was honor his contract, one he deserved (I’d argue he was the only one of that group who deserved a no trade clause). How would you feel if your boss asked you to negate your agreement for the better of the company. The mistake was made by the organization for even asking Mats to waive his no trade clause. It should’ve been handled differently. Mats didn’t owe the organization anything, he was paid for his services and he delivered.
Sundin, Kaberle, Tucker, McCabe,Ferguson means Leafs have to rebuild for next 3 years
we didn’t dislike Sundin, all you idiots don’t get…he was one of my favourites Leafs…we are just pissed he didn’t accept a trade for picks and prospects last March…stop praising and feeling sorry for this guy…he made his $70 million with the Leafs….I finally figured out why he chose Vancouver…he wants to finish 9th and out of a playoff spot haha
I’ll never understand why Mats Sundin was disliked by so many Leaf fans. The question of his leadership is tired and old. To me, the only ones who can accurately comment on his leadership are his teammates and coaches, not any of us. Also, no captain since ‘67 has led the team to a Stanley Cup (close doesn’t count), including the most beloved fan favorites Gilmour, Clark etc.
