You really don’t want to use nair on a cat. #1 their hair will fall out, #2 – they lick it and can get sick. Try a small amount of dilluted conditioner in a spray bottle, work it through and then rinse it well.

nothing that I know of..Nair would be poisonous to kitty…there would be no way to prevent her from getting a lick or two…maybe try olive oil or even mayonaisse…they might loosen the mats..otherwise..use really small scissors..like embroidery scissors…so she cannot really see them and tell that you are cutting them out…may take two people..and only do one/two at a time…good luck..I see bandaids in your future…

Dont use NAIR.. it may burn its skin.
Go to the pet store and get a “mat comb”. Good for long haired cats, Persians and such.
The comb had a ‘blade” on one side, that will not cut the skin, but will break the knot in the mat and not “pull” on the hair either- as most cats don’t enjoy the tugging and may get “pissy”

NAIR IS TOXIC TO CATS!! don’t use it. It can create severe burns and can if digested kill your cat. If you take your cat to the vet they can give it a small amount of sedation and that will make the clipping of fur less stressful for your cat.

if you simply cant, take a qtip and barely touch the center of the mat, GENTLY work it out with your fingers, maybe some cooking oil… kep in mind NAIR WILL BURN YOUR CATS SKIN!!!! so be VERY VERY carefull if you try to do it that way… what yopu want to do is get the mat worked up just enough to be able to cut it off, without pulling the skin…. cats skins are VERY sensitive, picture someone pulling your pubic hairs….
