How can I clean my bathroom mats?

starfishblues asked:

I have a couple of those bath mats in my bathroom with the rubber backing. I can’t put them in the washing machine, at least I don’t think I can. How can I clean them? They’re white and they’re starting to look dingy. Thanks, guys!!

I put mine in the washing machine on the gentle cycle…they come out fine

I’ve put them in the washer on the gentle cycle, also in the dryer. After a while you will lose some of the backing though. In the dryer put it on a low heat setting and keep checking them.

my mom put those on the washing machine….nothing happens…and she dries them on the dryer too…
    it’s fine…it just takes a while to dry…
but if you don’t like this idea…you can do it yourself on the sing and then hang dry or put it on the dryer….

Yes you can put them in the washer – put on delicate – use hot water and a bit of bleach and soap. If you have a white rag towel throw that in there with them.

I do it about every other month and my shower curtain

*** If they are the rubber ones – I would not put in the dryer – just throw back into the tub. – if you are talking about the ones with carpet yet I throw those in the dryer

Soak them in water and bleach, the bleach will kill any mold that is growing on the back side, after each bath hang them on the side of your shower wall to dry. this will stop any mildew from growing.

No reason you can’t wash them in the washing machine. I do and I hang over a clothes line to dry

Wash, gentle cycle, cold water. Dry in the dryer, low heat.
